Inspired by the etymological origins of “phillumeny” (the hobby of collecting matchboxes)— Greek phil - [loving] + Latin lumen- [light] — this book concerns itself with light both metaphorically and physically.

The reader opens the book to reveal lavender “matches” —the text via cyanotype process, the striking surface reimagined as mirrors, and sun loving lavender all explore light in different ways.
